All of the National Center for Transparency and Human Rights project’s are mainly focused on monitoring and prevention of corruption and raising students’ and youth’s awareness on the risks and consequences related to this phenomenon. Thereof, the organization’s main goal is to continue the development in this direction by widening the scope of the actions and providing more assistance to its beneficiaries. Currently, the work of the center is concentrated on monitoring corruption and other academic fraud, development of recommendations and policies for the decision makers in the field of youth and education as well as assisting students and youth in protecting their rights and freedoms against the impact of corruption.
The Centre's activities are primarily directed towards raising the awareness of the general public, but also the decision-makers, concerning the problems of corruption and fraud, transparency and access to information. Still the direct beneficiaries of our programs are mostly students and youth organizations, the academic community in general and the policy makers in the field of education.
Anticorruption programs are a priority domain for our organization and we have implemented a range of activities in this area, including informing and prevention campaigns, monitoring and evaluation projects, researches and surveys. As part of these activities, the center has held a number of workshops, seminars and, trainings with students and youth on the topics of corruption, university transparency and information access. These activities allowed the center to create a team of well-trained volunteers and establish partnerships with other students’ and youth organizations. Our staff and volunteers have great experience in conducting studies and researches (interviewing skills, questionnaire development etc), in developing and implementing monitoring and information campaigns.
NCTHR is a member of the Anti-Corruption Alliance, having established contacts and partnerships with most of the anticorruption NGOs in Moldova.
Also, the center is Founding Member of an international network of student and youth organizations – the Anticorruption Student Network in South-East Europe, which can be describe as a very effective information and experience exchange program which proved to be useful not only for each of the participating countries, but also for the region in general.
