Agrodrept NGO

Agrodrept-Moldova is a non-profit, non-governmental and apolitical organization dedicated to fighting for the rights of Moldovan farmers and fighting against corruption in Moldovan society.  Through our collaboration with other local, regional and national organizations, we sponsor activities and programs to defend the rights of farmers, women, youth and other marginalized groups and to fight the corruption that is so widespread within Moldova.

Agrodrept's core values as an organization are:

  • Human rights are fundamental to a democracy
    and must be protected
  • Corruption of any kind undermines civil society and must be eliminated
  • Transparency in our own organization is a first step in living our values

Agrodrept-Moldova's activities include:

  •  Organization and participation in seminars, conferences, lectures and meetings about the issues we are working to impact
  • Providing individual legal assistance
  • Sponsoring events that educate the community about the long-term impact of corruption on our society and our economy and sway public opinion to join the fight against corruption.

History and Goals -

Agrodrept-Moldova was founded in 2000 as a local organization in Orhei.  In 2007, after developing a three year strategic plan, we reorganized into a national public organization.  Between 2000 and 2007 we had become an important center for judicial assistance which represents and defends the rights of our member associations, promotes human rights, participates in conflict resolution and collaborates with mass media - TVM, TV Elita, Radio Orhei - to achieve our goals.

Agrodrept-Moldova has two primary goals:

  • Provide judicial assistance to promote human rights
  • Promote civil society through fighting corruption

The beneficiaries of these goals include farmers, the unemployed, handicapped individuals, women with many children, youth and people who have been victims of corruption.
